The 20th oral argument will be held at Court 602 of Tokyo Local District Court from 11:00am, Wednesday 5 October 2011.

After the oral argument, Lawyer Mr.Masaki Kito and Lawyer Mr.Takashi Yamaguchi, both are Cult Specialists and members of JSCPR (Japan Society for Cult Prevention and Recovery) will give explanation on the most recent situation of the lawsuit. Also, supporters meeting to Major Makoto Yamaya will be held.

Major Makoto Yamaya always needs your concern and prayer support for his fight against the Davidian heresy.

David Jang's Olivet University took over Bethany University

Olivet University in San Francisco, an education wing of Davidian, took over Bethany University in Santa Cruz.

Bethany University, a seminary of Assemblies of God in California, was dissolved for its financial difficulty and ended its nearly 100 years of history. Its property was sold to Olivet University, the theater of ministerial training for EAPC (Evangelical Assemblies of Presbyterian Churches) - Church body of David Jang.

PCK Reconfirmed David Jang's Heresy

On 23 February 2011, six Korean denominations held joint heresy committee at headquarter of PCK(Presbyterian Churches in Korea)-HapDong.

The joint heresy committee resolved to reconfirm each denomination's resolution regarding heresy of Jang Jae-Hyung (David Jang) in September 2009 is still in effect in this present moment. That is stated at clause four of their statement.

Those six denominations are PCK-HapDong, PCK-KoShin, PCK-TaeShin, PCK-BeaSok, PCK-TongHap, and PCK-HapShin.

Independent Enquiry Committee for the Gospel Herald Incident (《基督日報》事件獨立調查團, hereinafter “the Committee”) was established at the end of December 2007. Immediately after its establishment, the Committee carried out enquiry. Hearings were conducted by the Committee on 28 January 2008, 22 February 2008, 23 February 2008 and 14 March 2008 respectively. The following is a report on the Committee’s findings.

The Establishment and Reorganization of the Committee

Beginning from mid-November 2007, Christian churches, organizations and the mass media have paid close attention and doubts on the background, the stances in faith and the integrity of Gospel Herald, as well as the relationships between Gospel Herald, Young Disciples of Jesus (“YD”) and Dr. David J. Jang (張在亨牧師，又名張大衛).

As there was wide spread attention on the incident, the advisors of Gospel Herald, including Rev. Sek-wai Lo (羅錫為牧師), Rev. Enoch Lam (林以諾牧師) and Rev. Ting-yik Leung (梁廷益牧師), with the consent of Gospel Herald, appointed Mr. Daniel Or, a solicitor, to be the convener of an independent enquiry committee to be composed of widely recognized leaders within the Christian circle on 12 December 2007. That committee was commissioned to carry out enquiry on the incident with fair, open and just procedures in an effective manner. The objective of that committee was to investigate the backgrounds and the stances in faith of Gospel Herald, YD and Dr. David J. Jang, the relationships between the above three parties and their relationships with The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity (“Unification Church”). Another objective was to find out whether Gospel Herald had improper acts in the handling of its list of advisors, issues related to the Special Issue for Franklin Graham Festival and issues related to fund raising. The Committee announced its establishment on 21 December 2007. Thereafter, it finalized its topics of enquiry and announced its scope of enquiry on 8 January 2008.

The Committee was an organization of self-initiatives formed upon the request and consent by Gospel Herald. Its procedures and rules of enquiry were formulated by itself after detailed discussions. Same as other enquiry committees, the Committee had to give, to the greatest possible extent with limited time and resources, each party involved in the incident sufficient opportunities to make statements and put forward their cases. The Committee also strived to make the fairest and just decisions to the extent that its abilities allow.

On 28 January 2008, the Committee conducted its first meeting. To avoid conflict of interests (please refer to the announcement by the Committee on 14 February 2008 in Christian Times for details), all the members who were current or past advisors of Gospel Herald and the associated organizations resigned in that meeting. Some of the resigned members agreed to continue their assistance to the Committee as observers. The list of members of the Committee included Rev. Carver Yu (余達心牧師), Rev. Jason H. K. Yeung (楊慶球牧師), Rev. Fai Luk (陸輝牧師), Rev. Man-chee Kwok (郭文池牧師), Dr. Ricky W. F. Szeto (司徒永富博士), Dr. Dennis K. K. Fan (范建強博士) and Mr. Daniel K. F. Or (柯廣輝律師). Observers included Rev. James M. O. Cheung (張慕皚牧師), Rev. Simon Y. P. Chan (陳如炳牧師), Rev. Ting-yik Leung (梁廷益牧師), Rev. Enoch Lam (林以諾牧師), Rev. Youngman Chan (陳恩明牧師) and Mr. Thomas F. H. Tsang, an ex-Magistrate (曾繁凱先生).

On 20 February 2008, in response to the request by Gospel Herald, the Committee added a new topic in its scope of enquiry, namely, “Whether there were individual(s) and/or organization(s) willfully defamed Gospel Herald and YD”.

Results of Findings

I. Issues Related to List of Advisors, the Special Issue for Franklin Graham Festival and Fund Raising

The Committee was commissioned to conduct enquiry to ascertain whether Gospel Herald had acted improperly in the handling of its list of advisors, issues related to the Special Issue for Franklin Graham Festival and issues related to fund raising. In relation to the above three issues, the unanimous conclusions reached by the Committee were as follow:

The Committee found that there was no evidence revealing that Gospel Herald had improper acts in the handling of its list of advisors;
The Committee found that there was no evidence revealing that Gospel Herald had fraudulent acts in the handling of issues relating to the Special Issue for Franklin Graham Festival, but improvements should be made on certain aspects; and
The Committee found that there was no evidence revealing that Gospel Herald had fraudulent acts in issues relating to fund raising, but improvements should be made on certain aspects.
Having considered that Gospel Herald was a profit-making business company, the Committee’s advice to Gospel Herald was, including but not limited to (1) When Gospel Herald appeals to the public for donations, it should express more clearly its identity as a business organization; and (2) When Gospel Herald undertakes projects, it should prudently and clearly distinguish whether their works are voluntary or commercial service in nature.

II. The Backgrounds and Faith of the Associated Organization(s) and/or Individual(s)

Another major topic which the Committee was commissioned to investigate was the partnership between Dr. David J. Jang, Gospel Herald and YD, and whether the above three parties have any direct or indirect relationship with Unification Church.

Background Information of Gospel Herald and YD

As revealed by the information provided by the websites of Olivet University, San Francisco, U.S. (“OU”) and Christian Post, Dr. David J. Jang was the founder and President of OU and its current Chancellor. In addition, the declaration of Gospel Herald posted on its website on 20 November 2007 quoted a report by Christian Today in Korea. That report mentioned that Dr. David J. Jang founded YD. However, in the letter issued to the Committee through their solicitors on 9 April 2008, Gospel Herald and YD denied that Dr. David J. Jang was the founder of YD.

According to the information provided by YD, YD alleged that some students of Shanghai Fudan University studied the Bible with missionaries from Evangelical Presbyterian Church. In 1999, some students started YD campus meetings in Shanghai Fudan University. In October 2002, YD sent missionaries to Hong Kong. YD was formally established in Hong Kong in June 2003, and maintained a close relationship with YD in Mainland China.

In addition, the list of members provided by YD’s person in charge in Hong Kong revealed that, until 28 March 2008, four major co-workers of Gospel Herald, including the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the current editor of its Hong Kong edition, the current editor of Crossmap (Crossmap HK is managed by Gospel Herald HK) and a reporter were YD members.

Processes and Findings of Enquiry

During the enquiry, the Committee considered the evidence from various parties, including but not limited to the evidence provided by Gospel Herald and YD. Due to the background of YD, the Committee found that it was necessary to carry out enquiry in Mainland China, and had made various contacts with several believers with knowledge of YD in different geographical areas (“Mainland Believers with Knowledge”) and a number of those believed to be ex-members of YD（Ex-YD Members）.

The Committee considered all the evidence and listened to the statements of all witnesses. As a whole, the Committee had a lot of reservation on the consistency and authenticity of the evidence and statements provided by YD. As to the evidence provided by Mainland Believers with Knowledge and Ex-YD Members, the Committee found that they were consistent and authentic.

Regarding the backgrounds and faith of the associated organization(s) and/or individual(s), the Committee unanimously reached the following conclusions:

OU has expanded into 5 colleges in Theology, Music, Journalism, Art & Design and Information Technology, through which OU had developed strong ties with international ministries, including but not limited to YD and Gospel Herald. According to OU, YD’s “active participation” enhanced the rapid development of OU;
YD and OU were founded by David J. Jang, and shared with Gospel Herald his vision, and to a certain extent, common strategies, manpower, material resources and other resources; and
Dr. David J. Jang had close relationship with Unification Church in the past. However, there was no evidence revealing that Dr. David J. Jang still has a relationship with Unification Church.
The Committee considered and compared all evidence and statements, and carefully listened to the accounts on personal experiences by Mainland Believers with Knowledge and Ex-YD Members. Thereafter, the Committee contrasted the parties’ accounts on individuals involved in, the timing and sequences of the same relevant events. The Committee unanimously found that it was unable to exclude the following strong probabilities:

YD promoted doctrines similar to that of Unification Church, including (1) the first coming of Jesus to the Earth was a failure and (2) their pastor (Muksanim in Korean, in abbreviation, Msn ) is the “Second Coming Lord” or “Second Coming Christ” in Mainland China; and
YD developed rapidly in Mainland China and established bases in various major universities, and promoted the above doctrines in an organized, systematic and strategic manner. In addition, it has adopted an authoritative management style.
Because of the above reasons, the Committee unanimously expressed its serious apprehensions and concerns.

III. Other Issues

Regarding the new topic, namely “Whether there were individual(s) and/or organization(s) willfully defamed Gospel Herald and YD”, the Committee listened carefully to the statements and the case put forward by Gospel Herald and YD, and considered seriously the reasons and evidence submitted by Gospel Herald and YD. The Committee unanimously found that the relevant reasons and evidence were insufficient to substantiate such accusation.

All the observers accepted all the above results of enquiry.

Korean Churches Officially Recognized David Jang's Heresy

2009 Annual Assembly of PCK-HapSin

General Assembly of Presbyterian Churches (PCK-HapSin) recognized David Jang's heretical nature. General Assembly of Presbyterian Churches (PCK-TongHap) reported David Jang's question of Second Coming Christ.

On 23 September 2009, second day of Annual Assembly, PCK-HapSin recognized David Jang's heretical nature and resolved to terminate any relations with David Jang's organizations, taking full caution to the heresy.

On 24 September 2009, fourth day of Annual Assembly, PCK-TongHap endorsed Report of Heresy Committee, recognized Christiantoday as a media which stands for the heresy, and resolved to take full caution to the heresy.

CCK Resolved To Investigate David Jang

CCK (Christian Council of Korea) Heresy Committee which sat on 29 November resolved to launch Investigation Committee on David Jang's Question of Heresy.

Formation of the Committee will be made by nomination of Board of Directors of CCK.

Pastor David Jang, Founder of Christiantoday and various other organizations including Young Disciples of Jesus and The Gospel Herald (基督日報), has been member of CCK since 2003.

However, the CCK practiced investigation on David Jang's Question of Unification Church in 2004 and 2005.

This time's is to be the Third Investigation.

Also, General Assembly of Korean Presbyterian Churches (TongHap) already established its own Investigation Commitee on David Jang's Question and started certain studies.

CBS TV Reported Davidian Question

CBS TV, a Christian Broadcasting in Korea, reported Ex-Member's testimony on Davidian Question.

To the Press Meeting at Presbyterian Women Mission Center in Seoul on September 11, Mr. I Dong-Jung, the former Davidian member, testified that he once confessed his faith in Rev. David Jang as Second Coming Christ.

Mr. I Dong-Jung has been EAPC Pastor, Presbytery Leader, Assistant Pastor of Seoul Antioch Church, Crossmap Staff and Christiantoday Advertising Manager through 2002 to 2004.

Ex-Davidian Testified Its Cult Belief To Public

At Press Meeting on 11 September 2008 at Presbyterian Women Mission Center, Seoul, an ex-Davidian member testified his past belief in David Jang to confess as "Second Coming Christ".

Ex-member, Mr. I Dong-Jun, told to the press that he was approached by Davidian missionary Kim Sinei in 2002, and thorugh one-to-one Bible lessons, he came to be convinced that David Jang is the Second Coming Christ who will accomplish unattained mission of Jesus to establish Kingdom of God on the earth.

After the personal confession of faith in David Jang in 2002, he was transferred to full time service in various Davidian oranizations, including Crossmap, Christiantoday and Seoul Antioch Church.

In 2004, he decided to go out from the circle when he came to realize David Jang's past carrier in Unification Church (Moonies).

He was also involved in arranged marriage by direct matching of David Jang.

At the Press Meeting, four Heresy Sepecialists of CCK (Christian Council of Korea) supported the ex-member. Three of four Specialists had visited Hong Kong Independent Enquiry Committee in July to survey Davidian Question and acquired Hard Evidences from China Mainland.

The ex-member of Korea also handed some amount of Hard Evidences to those Specialists for further study on the Heresy.

STATEMENT

Decision to Hold back Relationship with Christianity Daily Until the Suspicion is Dissolved

Northern California Korean Churches Association (8 Associations) held its monthly meeting at Canyon Creek Korean Church on August 11th and consequently the members have agreed to the following position on the matter.

1. Until all the suspicion about Christianity Daily is clearly dissolved, we will temporarily hold back support to Christianity Daily, and the Northern California Korean Churches Association will conduct it own investigation in the matter. This decision was made in consideration of the press conference held in Los Angeles on July 17th by Rev. Dr. Thomas Wang (王永信), a speaker at upcoming 2008 Northern California Mission Conference to be held from August 28th to 31st, where Dr. Wang made a statement about strong theological suspicion he has on Christianity Daily’s founder and where Dr. Wang sent a warning to other church leaders. Our decision was also based on the findings of the Independent Enquiry Committee of Hong Kong and the fact that the Heretical Inquiry Consultation Committee members of the Christian Council of Korea (CCK) are currently conducting their own investigation in the matter.

2. Northern California Korean Churches Association (8 Associations) hereby affirms that we will proceed with our comprehensive research to protect the evangelical faith of all the member Associations, member churches and individual members within our organization; and to assist them in maintaining the righteous and sensible Christian life.

3. In addition, we would like to ask each church and members to accept those brothers and sisters with warmth if they truly repent and return to us from any suspicious organizations, and to assist those brethren to settle well within our established churches.

David Jang's Media Brought Five Medias To Lawsuit

Christiantoday, a David Jang's media, brought five Korean-speaking medias to lawsuit.

Accused five medias are Deulsori Times, News N Joy, Monthly Modern Religion （月刊現代宗教）, Australian Christian Review, and Christiantoday.US that is totally different from David Jang's one.

Since "Gospel Herald Incident" took place in Hong Kong, those five medias reported intensively the latest news about movement of Independent Enquiry Committee, which worked out on doubt that David Jang is adored as Second Coming Christ in "Young Disciples of Jesus" and other relating circles.

Christiantoday has already brought Major Makoto Yamaya, an Anti-Davidian Blogger, to Tokyo Local District Court. Also the media predicted to Christian Shimbun, a Japanese Christian media, to be brought to lawsuit.

David Jang, the central figure of the doubt, visited Seoul last month to meet with Heresy Committee of Christian Council of Korea. However, the meeting could not clear the doubt at all, according to the member of the Committee.

Second Session at Tokyo Local District Court

10 am Monday 28 July 2008, Defendant's Second Oral Argument for "Christiantoday vs Yamaya" took place at Court No.712 of Tokyo Local District Court.

Defendant (Counsels: Lawyer Masaki Kito and Lawyer Takashi Yamaguchi) presented Brief for Second Oral Argument to the Court.

Defendant asserted following facts:

(a) Christiantoday is a part of Global Media Group under leadership of David Jang, a self proclaimed Second Coming Christ.

(b) All starting members of Christiantoday are Pastors of EAPC, ordained by David Jang.

(c) Plaintiff Takayanagi (Christiantoday CEO) is National Representative Minister of EAPC, ordained by David Jang, and charged to Tokyo Sophia Church.

(d) Plaintiff Yada (Christiantoday Employee) is Member of EAPC, President of Young Disciples of Jesus, Representative of ACM Chiba Center, and Executive Officer of Verecom.

Defendant's Third Oral Argument will take place at 1:30pm Monday 22 September 2008 at Court No.712 of Tokyo Local District Court.

Beijing Haidian Church Terminated Relationship with YD

On 27 May, Beijing Haidian Church (北京市基督教海淀堂) announced that the Mega Church of Three Self Patriotic Church terminated all relationship with YD (Young Disciples of Jesus) after careful study on Report of Findings of IEC (Independent Enquiry Committee).

Young Disciples of Jesus (YD) was founded by Rev. David Jang in China and spread to the nation and all over the world, locating its HQ in San Francisco and publishing three Chinese Davidian Medias (基督日報, 基督時代, 福音時代). IEC revealed a heretical nature of YD, especially on its secret adoration to Rev. David Jang as Second Coming Christ, which is the Davidian Question.

CCK Heresy Committee Visited HK

Heresy Committee of CCK (Christian Council of Korea) visited Hong Kong from July 8 to 10 and interviewed to IEC (Independent Enquiry Committee), CGNER (Concern Group for Newly Emerged Religion) and Ex-members of YD (Young Disciples of Jesus).

Ex-Members of YD, a group which adores Rev. David Jang as Second Coming Christ, testified the Davidian Question and promised to send Notarized Document of Witness to CCK Heresy Committee.

Visiting Members of Heresy Committee handed a Certified Letter to IEC, which stated that Official Statement of CCK issued on 6 September 2005 did not/does not clear Rev. David Jang's involvement to Unification Church before 1997, and also the Statement did not/does not clear any Heresy Doubt on person of Rev. David Jang.

US Enquiry Committee To Be Formed

"Korean Journalists Association in North America" announced formation of Enquiry Committee on "Davidian Question". Christian Today US (Non-Davidian media) reported.

Formation of the US Enquiry Committee is a counter action to the most recent article posted on The Gospel Herald, a Chinese Davidian media, that stated that "Korean Pastors Association in California" cleared up the question when they listened to David Jang's personal confession of orthodox faith.

However, to interview to Korean Journalists, Representative of "Korean Pastors Association in California" told that the Association did not cleared the "Davidian Question" at all and the article posted by The Gospel Herald is contrary to the fact.

It is announced that the US Enquiry Committee will be consisted with seven members. Members of "Korean Journalists Association in North America" will not be enlisted to the Committee to avoid "Conflict of Interests", that follows the line of HK Independent Enquiry Committee.

United Church of Christ in Japan Terminated Relationship with Davidian

On 13 June, Rev. Nobuhisa Yamakita, Chair of General Assembly of "United Church of Christ in Japan" (Nihon Kirisuto Kyodan), the biggest denomination in the nation, issued an Official Statement to announce termination of its relationship with Christiantoday, a Davidian online news media.

The Statement shows the denomination's determined stance to finish any relationship with the media unless "Davidian Question" is cleared. The Statement also refers to on-going Court Trial of "Christiantoday vs Major Mak".

In Japan, since October 2006, Major Mak presented the "Davidian Question" based on evidences that Rev. David Jang might be adored as "Second Coming Christ" within Davidian Circle, a Community which is consisted with EAPC, ACM, YD, Christianpost, Christiantoday, Gospel Herald, Verecom, Olivet University and many other relating organizations.

The "Davidian Question" was also raised in Hong Kong, which is quickly followed by formation of "Independent Enquiry Committee" to clear the doubt. However, the Committee made public Report of Findings on 10 April, announced that high probabilities of Davidian's heretical nature is not excluded.

The Christiantoday brought Major Mak to lawsuit at Tokyo Local District Court, claiming compensation of 2.1 million Japanese yen.

This is a response from Major Makoto Yamaya of The Salvation Army in Japan to Young Disciples of Jesus in Hong Kong.

The said Major Makoto Yamaya would like to show deep disappointment and concern toward the Statement which the Young Disciples of Jesus in Hong Kong made public at Press Conference which was held at Room no. 203, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Henessy Road, Hong Kong, on date of 30 May 2008.

In regarding a part of the Statement which is specifically relating to the name and the person of the said Major Makoto Yamaya, it must be admitted that the content and expression of the part is wholly contrary to the truth.

Because of the obvious discrediting intention which is found in the Statement, the said Major Makoto Yamaya here requires the Young Disciples of Jesus in Hong Kong to make Public Apology and to correct the relating part in the Statement urgently.

In a case the Young Disciples of Jesus in Hong Kong denies or declines the presentation of the Public Apology, the said Major Makoto Yamaya will move forward a plea to National and International Covering Organizations of the Young Disciples of Jesus, those are National Association of Evangelicals of the United States of America (NAE) and World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), to launch Evangelical Enquiry Committee (EEC) to investigate the name and the person of the said Major Makoto Yamaya to clarify the discredit.

In a case those NAE and WEA deny or decline to launch the EEC, then, the said Major Makoto Yamaya will invite Christian Leaders in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, Canada and United States of America to form International Enquiry Committee (INEC) to investigate the name and the person of the said Major Makoto Yamaya to clarify the discredit.

A Summary Of Recent Situation In Hong Kong By "Hin"

I found that many have contributed a lot of good points in the issue about GH(The Gospel Herald) but I really encouraged that for those who are new to this, try to go to the SPECIAL LINK that CT(Christian Times) has provided and read through all the articles and reports.

N.B. Please be noted that a Davidian Media in Japan, "Christiantoday" is sometimes abbreviated as "CT". However, on Mr.Hin's context, "CT" indicates always an abbreviation of Hong Kong Christian Media "Christian Times", which is totally different from Davidian Group.

From last year, the relationship between YD(Young Disciples of Jesus), GH, Olivet university and David Jang was exposed and then the investigation began.

In the last few months, GH has tried to attack and criticize different individuals for their motivation and approaches such as the Yeungs, Yamaya, Rev. Lo, Rev. Wang. They also condemned organizations such as CT and put "business competition" as their motive.

During the last few months, all the advisors are gone, either by resigning or due to the dissolving of the board. It has been almost two months and not one advisor is willing to return to the board. Eventhough GH continue to claim that they don't teach those doctrines that many claimed they do but it seems that it is not helping at all. Edward and others are still trying very hard to get the advisors back without success.

There are so many unsolved questions and many of them are pointing toward their integrity and honesty. If they don't have the basic integrity and honesty, it is hard for others and the public to believe what they claimed. The integrity issue are reflected in many occasions and incidents, Frank Graham and monthly hits are only two of them. Twisting the meaning and result of different reports and meetings are another and we can see how they respond to 525(Heresy Seminar held on May 25 at North Point Alliance Church, HK) or earlier to the meeting between them and Rev. Wang. Changing names, hiding their relationship with David Jang are another. If David Jang is their founder (or key supporter) and if he has a good standing with WEA, for any new organization, they should use him as much as they could just like they are using many advisors as their reference. But, they never put David's name anywhere and pretend there is no connection until found out by the IEC.

The way they reacted to the IEC(Independent Enquiry Committee which found out Heretical Nature of Davidian), the way they refused to remove churches and organizations ad from their webpage even being requested for many many times are more examples. The way they get into the 525 meetings (eventhough it is YD members but YD and GH are closely connected) is another.

All these are pointing against their integrity and honesty. It is really hard for myself at least to believe what they claimed.

Then we looked the other side, why are these pastors, churches and organizations doing what they are doing. They seems to be different groups, why are they saying the same thing. Don't give me the conspiracy theory about jealousy and business competition.

Then we looked at the church history in the last few decades, is there anything similar to this? Why is this happening? Is it just pure speculation?

It is really interesting!

Heresy Seminar on Davidian Cult was Held

On 25 May, Heresy Seminar on Davidian Cult was hosted by CGNER (Concern Group for New and Emergent Religions) at North Point Alliance Church, Hong Kong, attended by 150 audiences.

Members of Young Disciples of Jesus (YD), Davidian's Student Mission, was declined to enter into the venue by receptionist. However, when Ex-Member of YD began to testify her experience in the Cult, some members of YD stood and raised voices to interrupt the Seminar.

The Seminar Speakers, Brothers Yeungs (Cult Specialists), Mrs. Chang (Theologian) and Rev. Wu (Church Leader) pointed out more clearer evidences, analysis and rational conclusions on Davidian Question - a Heresy which adores Rev. David Jang as Second Coming Christ.

Immediately after the Seminar, YD issued a Statement of Objection to the Heresy Seminar. Also YD announced to hold "Press Conference" to clarify the doubt casted on YD.

Christiantoday Brings Major Mak To Another Law Suit

Christiantoday, a Davidian Media in Japan, brings Major Makoto Yamaya, an Anti-Davidian Blogger, to another law suit, claiming compensation of 2.1 million Japanese yen.

New Deputy Lawyers to the Media are Lawyer Kazuyuki Takasu and Lawyer Takashi Asakura of Cherubim Law Firm.

Court session will start from 26 May 2008, 10:10am (JST) at Tokyo Local District Court.

Major Mak said, "I am now to prepare Letter of Objection to be presented to the Court by 19 May 2008. Please pray more wisdom and courage from the Lord for me who will break into the most difficult time ever after!"

Christiantoday's Deputy Lawyer Resigned

Lawyer Rintaro Ishigami announced his resignation from a position of Deputy Lawyer to Christiantoday, according to Major Mak's Diary.

Major Makoto Yamaya accepted the announcement on 22 April.

In April 2007, Lawyer Ishigami, as Deputy Lawyer to Christiantoday, brought Major Yamaya to Court, claiming compensation of 10 million Japanese yen.

However, the file "Christiantoday vs Major Mak" was closed in June 2007.

Name of succeeding Lawyer is not notified, said Major Mak.

Christiantoday is a Davidian News Media, whose writers and staffs are pastors of EAPC, ordained by Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung.

As you may know, on 10 April 2008, brief summary of the inquiry was made public to Hong Kong Christian Leaders at "IIC Report Meeting".

Today, IIC launched an Internet Site of "Report of Findings", provided in both English and Chinese, at following address:

To summarize the findings, there are two points which IIC cannot exclude after the inquiry:
(1) The Gospel Herald, Young Disciples of Jesus, and Olivet University are one in sharing of personnel, provisions and resources.

Please read the Report of Findings of IIC carefully and prayerfully to discern the most critical situation which is ongoing within World Evangelical Christians Circle.

It is strongly expected that Christian Leaders in Japan, Korea and USA should carefully study the Report of Findings of IIC to consider their own further possible action toward David Jang's Group.

Greeting in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I am always praying on ongoing situation in Hong Kong around problem of Davidian media, The Gospel Herald.

Especially, I offer my special intercessory prayer for "Brother Y" who is now targeted as scapegoat and is hardly attacked by Davidian on Internet.

Please understand that this kind of "discrediting wording" toward an objector is typical phenomenon in "Battle to Heresy and Cult".

In present case, Davidian even uses a wording "He is a Dog of Japanese".

I understand that when you listen a word "Japanese", some of you may experience a psychological response. That psychological response may be consciously or unconsciously rooted in sinful and wrongful doings of Japanese Government to Hong Kong during World War II.

Through reading on books of history, I came to know that Japanese Government did cruel things to innocent people of Hong Kong, causing long after memory of pain and suffering.

When thinking of these things, I must say that it is quite natural response for you to experience psychological barrier around your heart when you listen the word "Japanese".

And even Brother Y is said "a Dog of Japanese".

Here in this moment, I would like to apologize for all cruel doings of Japanese Government toward Hong Kong people during World War II. I am very sorry for the tragedy made by generation of my grandfathers and grandmothers.

Also I would like to ask you to discern Davidian's method of "discrediting wording". They use the word "Japanese" to form the psychological barrier around your heart. The effect they wish to gain is that you discredit the student of heresy, Brother Y.

Please remember that Dominicans, an Order of monks who were specialized to fight against Heresy, once called themselves as "Domini Canis", that means "Dog of the Lord" in Latin.

In every sense, there is no discrediting nature in a word "Dog".

So rather we should say "Dog of the Lord" or "Dog of Jesus".

When someone is fighting against Heresy and Cult, and because of the battle, he or she is risking his/her reputation and personal peace, we should call him/her "Dog of Jesus".

I believe that that is the most honorable title.

I always wish to be a Dog of Jesus.

IIC Reported Findings of Davidian Question

On 10 April, Independent Investigation Committee (IIC) reported findings of Question of Heresy on The Gospel Herald in relation with Young Disciples of Jesus (YD).

Meeting of Report was attended by a hundred of Christian Leaders and Pastors of Hong Kong.

In a brief summary of findings, IIC showed strong anxiety and high concern to YD, which is found strategizing and promoting Heretical Teaching that adores their leader as "Second Coming Christ".

IIC also admitted a corporal unity between The Gospel Herald, YD and Olivet University, in sharing of personnel, provisions and resources.

IIC announced coming publication of News Release and Detailed Report of Findings on Internet.

During the meeting, Lawyer Or Kwong Fai, IIC Convener, referred to a fact that Deputy Lawyer of The Gospel Herald and YD sent Letters of Legal Threat to IIC on 2 and 9 April. However, beginning date of the Court Session was not clarified in the meeting.

IIC was appointed by Supervising Pastors of Chinese Media, The Gospel Herald, to investigate the Question of Heresy of the media itself. On 28 March, Supervising Pastors announced their resignation from the position and showed their concern to Heretical Nature of YD. Last remaining YD Supervising Pastor also resigned on 10 April at the Meeting of Report when he listened the YD issued Letter of Legal Threat to the IIC.

SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM MAJOR MAK

I show respect to courageous and determined spirit of IIC members.

In this time, Davidians also issued "Letter of Legal Threat" to give pressure to their Challengers. This is quite usual method of the circle to try to control the situation.

In my case, Mr. Yata, Chrisitantoday Staffwriter and YD Japan President, first stated possible "Legal Threat" to me. Then, Mr. K, Executive Officer of IBtimes and former Editor-in-Chief of Christiantoday, talked me the "Legal Threat". Soon after, Pastor Izumi Takayanagi, Christiantoday CEO, cautioned me the "Legal Threat". Then, Takayanagi and Yata visited Salvation Army HQ and showed a draft of "Petition to the Court" to my senior officer. After that, Deputy Lawyer of Christiantoday sent me official "Letter of Legal Threat" followed by "Petition to the Court of Mediation" which claims 10 million Japanese yen of compensation.

My response to the above legal action was just simply refuse to attend all "Listening Sessions" of the Court of Mediation. However, I presented "Letter of Objection" to the Court. Consequently, the Court declared "The End of the Mediation". The file was closed.

After that, Davidians did not make any further legal action to me.

In this January, Pastor Takayanagi, Christiantoday CEO, visited Salvation Army HQ and talked to Major Ota, my senior officer, that "We haven't had any intention to bring the matter to the Court at all. We just wanted to talk together around a table". When I listened these words through Major Ota, I was deadly astonished!

So, this is my message to Christians in Hong Kong. Do not be afraid. Stand bold and be courageous in the Spirit of the Lord. Your enemy cannot touch you. The Lord shall guard you as you are Eyes and Pupils of God!

Gospel Herald Supervisors Resigned To Caution

Editorial Supervisors of The Gospel Herald announced their resignation from the position, and called Christians in Hong Kong and Overseas to caution against "Davidian".

Since its establishment, The Gospel Herald, a Davidian Chinese Media, has gathered a number of famous pastors and leaders of Hong Kong Churches as "Editorial Supervisors" to promote her credibility as the media.

However, in last November, General Secretary of Hong Kong Church Renewal Movement, Rev. Wu Chi-Wai pointed out "Davidian Question" in relation with "Young Disciples of Jesus", an another body of Davidian Heresy.

The "Davidian Question" raised certain attention of Hong Kong public, so the Editorial Supervisors decided to form "Independent Investigation Committee" (IIC) to clarify the question as to fulfill their supervising responsibility.

The IIC announced that its final "Report of Findings" will be made public on 10 April 2008. Before the appearance of the Report, those Supervisors resigned to end their relationship with The Gospel Herald.

About this resignation, The Gospel Herald printed their statement on 1 April, explaining that "Some Supervisors are harmful to us, so we decided to dissolve the Board of Supervisors at once. This dissolution will not make any effect to the media herself".

The Resignation/Dissolution of the Board of Supervisors in this delicate timing means that the coming "Report of Findings" of the IIC may have harsh and accurate contents to the Davidian.

Dr. William Wagner To Testify At Independent Investigation Committee

Hong Kong's Independent Investigation Committee (IIC) to work out for "Davidian Question" will listen to Dr. William L. Wagner, who is Chairman of Executive Board of Christianpost - a Davidian Media, and is Dean of Olivet Theological College and Seminary (OTCS) - a Davidian Seminary in San Francisco.

At first, IIC invited David Jang, who was Executive Member of Unification Church (Moonies), and is Chancellor of Olivet University and Founder of various organizations including JFC, CEF, ACM, YD, EAPC, WAPC, Christianpost, Christiantoday, The Gospel Herald, Crossmap, Verecom, IBtimes.

However, David Jang declined the invitation, on behalf of the head of world wide group, Dr. Wagner will visit Hong Kong to sit in front of IIC Inquirers.

IIC is now in process of "Reorganization" and is to publish its "Report of Investigation" in this March, said IIC Convenor, Lawyer Or Kwong Fai.

HK Independent Investigation Committee Announced Reorganization

Hong Kong Church's Independent Investigation Committee (IIC) announced reorganization of its membership on 13 February 2008, according to report of Christian Times.

IIC, which is aimed to find out "Davidian Question" on Hong Kong Church's context, was formed in end of last year with 10 notorious HK Christian Leaders to publish "Report of Findings" in coming March.

However, recent meeting found a serious nature of "Davidian Question" as heresy, and the Committee has to make certain provision to anticipated "Conflict of Interest".

Renewed List of Membership of IIC will be announced by 22 February. Publication of "Report of Findings" in this March is also reconfirmed by Lawyer Or Kwong Fai, The IIC Convener.

Christiantoday Will Bring Major Mak To Lawsuit Again

Pastor Izumi Takayanagi, CEO of Christiantoday, a Davidian Media in Japan, visited Major Haruhisa Ota, Personnel Secretary of The Salvation Army HQ in Tokyo, on 18 January 2008.

Pastor Takayanagi said that unless The Salvation Army disciplines Major Makoto Yamaya, an Anti-Davidian Blogger, the Christiantoday will bring renewed case to Court again.

The CEO of the Media also stated that if Yamaya deletes The Davidian Watcher, another Anti-Davidian Blog in English, the Media will not bring him to lawsuit.

Responding to the statement, Major Makoto Yamaya announced his determined refusal of deletion of the Blog.

Major Yamaya estimates that the Christiantoday will start the trial at Tokyo Local District Court on coming March of this year.

Investigation Committee Announced Agenda of Inquiry

The Independent Investigation Committee on "Davidian Question" announced its "Agenda of Initial Inquiry" to Hong Kong public on 8 January.

The Committee, which is consisted with notorious pastors, lawyer and economist of Hong Kong, was established on end of this December by request of The Gospel Herald - a David Jang's Chinese Media that is doubted as Heresy adoring Jang as "Second Coming Christ".

The Committee will work along with the Agenda to investigate, analyse, clarify and conclude the Question of Heresy on David Jang, former High Member of Moonies and Founder of various organizations include ACM, YD, EAPC, Chistianpost, Verecom and many others.

The Agenda is as follows.

The Independent Investigation Committee will work to;

1. Clarify Relations between The Gospel Herald Hong Kong and;
(a) The Gospel Herald of Northern America.
(b) Young Disciples of Jesus (YD).
(c) David Jang Jae-Hyung.
(d) Unification Church (Moonies).

2. Clarify Relations between Young Disciples of Jesus and;
(a) David Jang Jae-Hyung.
(b) Unification Church.

3. Clarify Relation between David Jang Jae-Hyung and Unification Church.

4. Clarify Handling of Donations in The Gospel Herald.

5. Clarify Handling of Supervising Pastors in The Gospel Herald.

6. Clarify Business Procedure to Franklin Graham's Publication in The Gospel Herald.

7. Propose Possible Guideline of Solution to "Davidian Controversy".

It is also announced that the Investigation Committee holds its respective right to revise the Agenda.

Toward this Agenda, Major Makoto Yamaya, Anti-Davidian Blogger in Japan, commented as follows.

1. Some Christians in Hong Kong are anxious about "Neutrality" of the Independent Investigation Committee. However, appearance of Hong Kong Christians' their own "Juxtapositional Committee" is still in uncertainity.

2. The Independent Committee announced that they will propose "Possible Guideline of Solution to Davidian Controversy" at clause 7 of the Agenda. As a person in the Controversy, it is quite interesting to me whether coming "Solution" is just to see Controversy within China, or trying to see Controversies in Japan, Korea, USA and elsewhere.

3. Another important point is about "Clarification of Relation between The Gospel Herald HK and The Gospel Herald USA". It is known that The Gospel Herald USA is registered at "Suite#301, Howard Street 631, San Francisco, CA94105" with its legal representative, Ms. Jenny Lee. It is also known that Mr. Edward Shih is CEO and Publisher of the media.

We should be attentive that David Jang's Congregation, EAPC (Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches) placed its "General Assembly Office" at the very same address, which was "Suite#301, Howard Street 631, San Francisco, CA94105" with its World Mission Director, Mr. Edward Shih.

Because of above fact, Mr. Edward Shih is responsible to explain relation between The Gospel Herald and EAPC, those are also winged by another David Jang's organization, Christianpost.

Public Apology to Korean Churches

Following document is Public Apology issued by Korean Methodist Church in 1989 which pointed out David Jang Jae-Hyung as "Conspiracy Worker" to sell Methodist Seminary to Unification Church.

As outcome of the conspiracy, Sun Moon University, Unification Church's University in Korea, was activated.

It is important that the Korean Methodist Church publicly stated David Jang Jae-Hyung as high member of the Moonies.

It is expected that "Investigation Committee of Hong Kong Churches" shall carefully work on this document to identify David Jang's carrier in the Unification Church.

David Jang Jae-Hyung, Founder of ACM, EAPC, Christianpost and other organizations, are now questioned as a modern heresy in elswhere, who taught himself as "Second Coming Christ" to his young followers.

Public Apology to Korean Churches

- Clarification of the problems raised on establishing the Sunghwa Seminary operated by Unification church and explanation of our denomination’s stand

May the Lord bless Korean Churches and 10 million Christians in Korea!

Our denomination (The Korean Methodist Church) and unworthy myself (Rev. ShinMoon Shin) were in lack of knowledge on the law to establish a seminary in Korea. Our poverty and negligence enabled the Moonies (Unification Church) to change Methodist Seminary, called Sunghwa – meaning sanctification, to Unification church’s Seminary, called Sunghwa – meaning harmony in unification church’s theological term. The Moonies were very crafty to take over our school permit in the process and finally established their seminary, which later became a university from our original seminary permit. Our denomination and I are deeply sorry for the way it turned out. We repent before Korean churches and make a public apology according to our conscience to make everything clear by exposing everything the way it actually had happened.

Regarding the problem mentioned above, I had unveiled the truth along with my apology in several occasions. However, when the Sunghwa unification seminary got the permit to establish the seminary from the government in an unrighteous fashion, we needed to make Korean Christians and denominational leaders aware of the Moonies’ wicked scheme with more detailed information about what had actually happened in my denomination. In the hope that other Christians may not get some serious damages from them any more, I would like to disclose the truth in this writings.

1. The background and the process of school establishment

1) As the 5th democratic republic of Korea unfolded, a new policy was issued. That was to demolish all of the theological seminaries without governmental permit. This caused all Korean denominations to get only one seminary permit for a denomination. Our denomination requested to get a permit for Sunghwa (Sanctification) Theological Seminary from the government and we received the temporary permit but without granting degrees.

2) On April 30th of 1982, the department of education granted us temporary permit until September 30th of the same year. Until the due date, we had to finish the school facility outlined by the department of education. Then we could officially get the permit to start the theological seminary. Only after properly obtaining the permit, then we were able to advertise to admit students. However, we needed to have 120 million won in the bank as a part of application to get it started.

The chief director of seminary foundation, Rev. Yunhwan Park, was not able to supply that amount of money within his financial ability. Therefore, he had a debt of 120 million won from the members of his church and deposited it into the bank account. The proof of the bank balance and the necessary documents were submitted to the department of education in order to get the temporary permit.

3) After that, our denomination was putting aggressive efforts to raise fund to establish the theological seminary. Sadly American Methodist Mission Board was not able to help us back then.

4) The fund necessary to build seminary facility for the initial stage was about 2 billion won, but the fundraising was not going well. Because of the lack of the fund, the application to extend the due date for the facility was submitted. Eventually, the extension was granted to September 30th, 1983.

5) The chief director, Rev. Yunhwan Park, resigned from his position and a business-minded deacon, Mr. KwangSik Min, who planed to borrow money from Japan to establish the theological seminary and the hospital, and to use the income from the hospital for the administration of the seminary. But this never took place. He resigned from the position. Therefore, the denomination submitted the second application to extend the due date again. The new due date was renewed to September 30th of 1984.

2. The relationship with Mr. JinSuk Seo (Current Chief director of Sunghwa University of unification church)

1) Mr. Jinsuk Seo was introduced by Rev. Jinbak Choi on April 1984.

2) Rev. Jinbak Choi became a part of our denomination on May 18th 1982. He was ordained by Rev. DongHoon Han, and graducated Wesleyan Seminary on December of 1979.

3) When he became a part of our denomination, he was a pastor at a church located at 118-5 HaengDangDong SungDong-Ku and established Korean Early Childhood Ministry where he was a chief director and was very active and dedicated for this ministry. This brought the trust among the co-ministers in our denomination.

4) When the establishment of the theological seminary was in difficulty, Rev. Jinbak Choi was dedicated to help build the buildings for the seminary.

5) Sometime later, Rev. Jinbak Choi introduced Mr. Jinsuk Seo to our denomination. Mr. Seo was a CEO of Borim Co. Ltd., an arbitrator at Seoul District Court, and an examiner of trade association. He showed great promise with his financial wealth and his interests in doing voluntary works.

6) Mr. Seo was born in ChungCheong provice. He asked to run the future university by himself except theological seminary department which would be run by the denomination in exchange of his contribution to the establishment of the university at the later years of his life. The denomination suggested to hurry the establishment of the building and to discuss the internal matters later.

7) After that, Mr. Seo introduced two university professors, ChanBal Park and KeeOk Lee, and requested them to be among the board members. The denomination was not in any doubt to include them to be among the board members on April 28th 1984.

8) We had searched about Mr. Jinsuk Seo’s identity through an organization, but could not find anything suspicious. This led us to believe him as a good Christian businessman.

9) Mr. JinBak Choi rushed building the school facilities with his general agent, Mr. JaeHyung Jang, for him.

10) After that, Mr. Seo requested all the board members to resign from the administrational committee except Rev. Shin who found the seminary. Of course, this idea was rejected firmly.

11) Mr. Seo continued to suggest that he would pay for the facility if all of the board members are resigned. As our denomination continued to reject that idea, Mr. Seo delayed the building project as due date approaching fast, which was psychological pressure for all of us. As we realized that the 3rd extension was not an option from the department of education, frustration overwhelmed us knowing that the establishment of the theological school was not possible.

12) Without any notification, Mr. Seo and Mr. JaeHyung Jang preceded felling operation and public works on early December of 1984. A person near the school site called us to notify that the building project was in progress and we became aware of their move. Later they brought an entrusting contract to carry out the building project according to their own term.

13) According to the letter from Mr. Jinbak Choi, there were 13 tombs, unarmed bomb shells, and rock floor; and this prevented them from constructing any further even as they continued to do public work including 660㎡ of temporary prefab building.

14) Then they applied the permit with the temporary prefab facility. After the inspector from the department of education came to inspect the facility on January 12th of 1985, the permit was declined with the loss of temporary permit.

3. The transition of permit holder from our denomination to unification church

1) The notice of the cancelation for the permit brought us total despair loosing the hope of establishing the theological seminary. Because of the lack of knowledge, we fell into deep despair and discouragement since our last hope to withhold the temporary permit was canceled. From obtaining the temporary permit on April 30th of 1982 to cancelation of the permit on January 12th of 1985, building the theological seminary was our top priority from our denomination. Therefore, we put all our efforts on this. However, the result was like chasing after the pretty rainbow, and shame overwhelmed us.

2) We quietly decided to liquidate the school foundation. But this was not an easy thing to do either since the property and assets should be returned to related organization through the department of education. School land existed and the account balance of 120 million won was on the bank account, which was from the church members. Mr. Seo already put lots of work into to public work and temporary prefab building. We were not able to pay back for these.

3) On top of that, Mr. Seo threatened us to pay back for what he already had done; otherwise, he would bring the case to the court.

4) Mr. JinSuk Seo notified us through Mr. Jinbak Choi that he would pay for the land in the amount of 240 million won in exchange of the position as the chief director for the seminary foundation.

5) Our denomination’s executive committee and theological school administration committee came to a conclusion that we did not have financial ability to establish the theological school and there seemed no possibility at the moment. This led us to give the position to Mr. Jinsuk Seo who seemed to be a good business person. Since the permit was canceled, we all thought seminary foundation was of no use. On June 4th of 1985, the chief director position was given to Mr. Jinsuk Seo in exchange of 240 million won to pay off the school land on July 20th of 1985. Rev. Shin resigned from the chief director position, and Mr. Seo was replaced in that position.

4. The scheme of unification church (The Moonies) and conspiracy with department of education.

1) In the process of shifting the school foundation from our denomination to the unification church, Mr. Jinbak Choi, who introduced Mr. Jinsuk Seo, disappeared all of a sudden. Regarding to the problem of obtaining the permit in relation to Mr. Choi, we tried to contact him without any success since he moved more than 10 times with his family. This was considered to escape from the situation.

2) As an agent of Mr. Jinsuk Seo, Mr. JaeHyung Jang did all the actual works. He was the core member of unification church who led “International Unification Student Association” as a secretary-general from March of 1982 to December of 1984. Later he became a secretary-general for Sunghwa University from November of 1985 to February of 1986. He became a planning director from March of 1987 to May of 1987. It was apparent that he was deeply involved in Unification Church leadership role without any doubt since he continued to be a dean of student affairs for the Sunghwa University run by Unification church.

3) Our denomination sent a letter of protest to the head of department of education when we first found out the Unification Church’s Sunghwa Seminary was advertising their school.

4) Department of education responded us on September 8th of 1986 with a letter. It said that they returned the application for the permit on January 12th of 1985 and resubmission was made on February 25th of 1985. They sent a notification to us which we had never received on May 3rd of 1985:

Until March 1st of 1986, the facility should be completed.
Until October 30th of 1985, the submission of application for the school establishment should be submitted.

Unification church’s Sunghwa Seminary completed all of the above under their name and the department of education gave the actual permit on December 27th of 1985.

5) Although the letter from the department of education mentioned that we submitted the application for the permit on February 25th of 1985, our denomination never submitted the application, nor received any notification from the department of education.

6) Mr. Jinbak Seo asked us to borrow the seal for the school because he needed it to submit the public work for the school land. Because of the distance between Mr. Seo and the denomination, he insisted to borrow the seal. Later he returned the seal.

7) We discovered that some of the documentation for the school foundation committee meetings was missing around January of 1988. We reported this to the local police.

Closing and Conclusion:

Our denomination’s Sunghwa (Santification) Theological Seminary was changed to Sunghwa (Harmony in Unification Theology) Theological Seminary either by the mistake of the department of education or by the scheme of unification church. If it was the mistake of the department of education, it should be correctly reverted. If it was the scheme of the unification church, the one who did this should be firmly reprimanded. Moreover, unrightfully established unification church’s Sunghwa Seminary should be dismissed.

In summary, Mr. Jinbak Choi was entered into our denomination with crafty plans. He brought Mr. Jinsuk Seo along with Mr. Jaesuk Lee, and Mr. Seo brought Mr. JaeHyung Jang who was one of the leaders of unification church, in order to take over Sunghwa Seminary into unification church’s Sunghwa seminary. After they achieved their goal, Mr. Jinbak Choi disappeared while Mr. Jinsuk Seo became a chief director for Sunghwa (harmony) Seminary and Mr. JaeHyung Jang became a dean of student affairs. By this, we could conclude that the unification church made a plot to take over our Sunghwa (Sanctification) Seminary to their possession.

Our denomination is planning to discuss this matter with the lawyers and bring this case to the court. Now we ask all of Korean churches to forgive us for our lack of supervision by which we were deceived by the plot of unification church and the negligence and the lack of knowledge about the education law. As we end this writing, we express our desire to take the lead to fight against the lie and scheme of the unification church which requires Korean churches to be united.

The Gospel Herald Announced Formation of Independent Committee

The Gospel Herald, Davidian's Chinese Newspaper, announced coming formation of "Independent Committee" which is as its official response to Hong Kong Church's Question.

As The Hong Kong Economy Times reported, various doubts are cast on The Gospel Herald and its relating organizations.

The Gospel Herald explained that the "Independent Committee" will be consisted with "Neutral Pastors" to investigate questions on the Davidian Media.

However, further voice is raised from Hong Kong Christians that secure of the "Neutrality" is quite questionable if The Gospel Herald itself makes selection of members of the Committee.

Responding to recent situation in Hong Kong, Major Makoto Yamaya, Anti-Davidian Blogger in Japan, proposed a method of formation of "Investigation Committee" on his blog as follows:

1. When "Neutrality" of the "Independent Committee" not seems secured, Chinese Christians should establish their own "Investigation Committee" apart from the Davidian's one.

2. The Investigation Committee should include Cult Specialists of Korea, Japan, China and North America.

3. The Investigation Committee should work along following procedure:
(1) Preparation of "Agenda of Investigation".
(2) Global Collection of "Evidences".
(3) Analysis on the "Evidences".
(4) Publication of "Mid Term Report".
(5) Discussion on the Report.
(6) Final Conclusion.

The Hong Kong Economy Times reported a doubt on Davidian group on its December 12 issue. Headline stated that "Franklin Graham Association Suddenly Cancelled A Business with The Gospel Herald”.

The Gospel Herald, a Davidian Chinese Newsmedia, offered service of editing and printing of Franklin Graham Crusade publications with no cost. The Franklin Graham Association accepted the offer. However, one week before the Crusade, it was found that Fund Appeal to The Gospel Herald was printed on a page of the publication without prior consent with the Association. For this reason, the Association cancelled the business with the Davidian media. Following the headline news, The Hong Kong Economy Times reported a doubt on Davidian group which covers (1) David Jang’s Carrier in Unification Church, (2) Relation between The Gospel Herald and “Young Disciples of Jesus” that was pointed as Heresy in China Mainland, and (3) Foreign Controversies on Davidian Cult.

After the report of The Hong Kong Economy Times, Hong Kong Association of Christian Organizations Limited (ACO) made its "Statement" public on 14 December, which says that The Gospel Herald should officially respond Hong Kong Christians to accomplish its accountability. The Statement concluded that unless the accountability was attained, Hong Kong Churches should decline affiliation with the Davidian media.

Peter Mak Refused Meeting of Discussion

On Tuesday 20 November, Peter Mak, Executive Officer of The Gospel Herald, a David Jang's Chinese Newspaper, refused to attend Meeting of Disucussion on 3pm Thursday 22 November at "Church Renewal Movement Center" in Hong Kong. The Meeting host, Rev. Wu once announced that the Meeting will be held as it was planned, however, on the same day, the Meeting was postponed to unfixed date.

On the Tuesday, three delegates of Young Disciples of Jesus and The Gospel Herald visited Rev. Thomas Wang, President of Great Commission Center in California. The Gospel Herald reported that the conversation between Rev. Wang and those three delegates were made in friendly atmosphere and concluded by prayer of blessing by the Pastor. However, Rev. Thomas Wang reported the very same conversation on Hong Kong Chinse Christian Media, which denotes his sense of confusion, cautiousness and doubt on those visitors and David Jang, founder of Young Disciples of Jesus and The Gospel Herald. Those visitors urged Pastor Wang to meet with David Jang immediately, however, Rev. Wang declined their proposal because he will attend "World Mission Symposium" on Sunday 25 November in Hong Kong. Rev. Wang announced that the meeting may be set on early December possibly.

On the same time, "Discussion" on the Internet is on going between Major Makoto Yamaya, Anti-Davidian Blogger, and Chris Chan, an agent of Young Disciples of Jesus and The Gospel Herald. Major Mak already made three responces to The Gospel Herald/Chris Chan on the Internet in English and Japanese, then two of them were translated into Chinese and circulated to Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and North America by aid of Chinese Chrisitans.

Major Mak cautioned to Peter Mak not to harm Major's honor at coming Meeting of Discussion between The Gospel Herld and Cult Specialist in Hong Kong.

Major Makoto Yamaya, who recently presented a Letter of Objection to The Gospel Herald, is anticipating that similar dafamation to him would be repeated by Mr. Peter Mak, Chief Executive Officer of The Gospel Herald, at the Meeting of Discussion on Thursday 22 November in Hong Kong Church Renewal Center.

The Letter of Objection is pointing out 12 clauses of errors and defamations in The Gospel Herald Statement which was circulated among Chinse Speaking Churches elswhere in the world on 18 November 2007. Major Mak already made his Response public on 19 November 2007.

Major Mak stated that in a case The Gospel Herald brings to lawsuit, he will prepare counterclaim at Tokyo Local District Court regarding The Gospel Herald Statement and the Record of Discussion to defend his honor.

On 18 November 2007, The Gospel Herald, David Jang's Chinese News Paper, circulated Letter of Statement on "Davidian Cult Question". In the Statement, The Gospel Herald predicts that the Company shall bring Major Makoto Yamaya of The Salvation Army to Lawsuit. Also, The Gospel Herald discredited Major Mak by informing his "bad" reputations among members of Davidian Circle in Japan and Korea.

On 19 November, The Gospel Herald printed the same Statement on its Online Edition.

However, Major Makoto Yamaya soon presents a Response to The Gospel Herald on 19 November 2007 and globally circulates it through Internet. See the document.

Also, Major Makoto Yamaya presents a Letter of Notification to The Gospel Herald, saying that "In a case of Lawsuit, Tokyo Local District Court must be the place, none the other".

Major Makoto Yamaya predicts that if the Lawsuit is once started, it would take at least 10 years to see its outcome, and he can't afford to travel to Taiwan, Hong Kong nor San Francisco so often for long 10 years. That is the reason why he'd like to choose the Tokyo Local District Court, where his address is covered by the Court.

This ministry does preach that Jesus died on the cross, and that Jesus Christ is Lord, Yet this ministry also preaches that Jesus will not return on a cloud, as written in the bible, but on the handas of 144,000 people who have been purified by the Holy Spirit. These people are to be the remnants and the ones who will lead other to Christ- who they believe David. This is why they evangelize so crazily, the are so invasive in their way of evangelizing, and if you do not evangelize then you do not have faith, faith in what, faith in the above teachings. BTW I did not ask for this to be told to me, SO why would I lie about it. I just wanted to do bible study, and then comes this offensive teaching.

YES they believe that David is Christ, if you were part of this community for four years and they did not tell you, was there ever a sisuation where you were upset by the way they were acting about him- david. Maybe that is why they skipped this kind of message, you know they do no have to give it to everyone. Did they ever ask you to do things that was uncomfortable to you? did you ever have questions? Maybe they never told you because you never seemed that commited untill recently??

these people are niece, and they make you feel that there is love there, and there are good qualities. BUT, at the same time they require such things from you: I have seen people having to fast if they did not find new members, I have seen people feel sad about having to leave their family, I have seen people being moved around from place to place who don't really want to go but if they don't they feel they are being a Jonah or Judas. I was compared to Judas recently, which did not affect me bcause David is not Christ! There is mind control, everything that you believe if it is not the same as the commynity then you need more faith, or that you are not praying enough.

I am a christian and i had joined this ministry in Africa kenya. Yes they say that their pastor is Jesus, they say that there is nothing like rupture, they say that Jesus will not come riding on a cloud as it is written in the book of Revelation clearly, they instead interpret it as Jesus will come riding on a crowd which is the 144000 members they are seeking to register for life if i may add. You sign a contract to be with them for life and never to discuss any teachings you get from them with any other person. Especially when you are a leader and you are required to preach the message. i was one of their leaders and when i knew everything my eyes were opened and i left. Please believe they are a cult.

If you are a member you probably dont know the whole truth because you have to ask alot of questions to get the truth which they dont give. I can quote one of their leaders who told me that yes they are registered under a legal not cult like organization but they did so only to get recognition and to get registered. Have they told you that when you join them you completely give over life to them? your degree and everything you have wanted to be is obsolete and you have to work and read for them. they asked me to choose between my parents and them, on an easter holiday.

I speak from the bottom of my heart to anyone who reads this and thinks that it is not a cult. Read the bible well, If Jesus was here, it says our eyes will be opened and we will know Him. If their Jesus was Jesus why did't he know when i was talking to him what to answer. ,Jesus answered questions before he was asked it says so in the bible. He knows our thoughts and our names, he did have a clue about me! If you knew me from mothers womb why didnt you even know my name? what i was thinking at the moment?

Their message are fresh and convincing, they seem to answer the questions we always ask. But those who have attended their meetings have you realised they only read one part of the message and focus on only that part but when you read the whole text it means anotehr thing than what they said.

I was there almost a year, a head member of their organization and i know what am talking about. Read your bible well, ask the Holy spirit to interpret for you, after the teachings, reread the text(the whole message). When someone tells you he is Jesus you better run, we are in the age of the antichrist and Christ said that many will come in His name and we should be wary of these men.

Oh and if they are in your Uni its because your uni is probably the leading in youre area and they are looking for smart young people. And their leaders, mostly Koreans have had huge favors from this David guy who they call Jesus that they actually owe their lives to him.

I have read the chain of blogs and replies about ACM. I have heard about it from my sister who was in it for a while then came out as she claimed it got too controversial. i am from Africa and Kenya to be specific.She came home and told me that they say Jesus is their pastor David. she showed me a book where one missionary from south africa who is now her friend had scribbled some calculations half,half and half a time where they calculated the old testament, new testament and what am still struggling to understand is the new gospel i think? then they started from Moses,to Jesus then to pator David who is the 'christ' and she wrote 2000 alongside so i guesse that is the day of confirmation of their prophesy.

Now since she left she has lately been called to meetings with a new leader who is offering her cash to return,20,000/= an she is being threatened of legal actions if she discloses such information. My question is,can they do this,if they are not a cult why are they bribing people to keep quiet and to go back. My sister has now since she left not gone to any church and i frankly fear for her wellbeing since they are now threatening her. What is the best advice?

I attended one of their gatherings in Hazina towers 20th floor where another young girl was preaching and she was so convincing and i felt everything she said.later i have learnt that she left the organization when she was told that the pastor David is "christ" .Anyway i just want to tell you i know what you are going through., it has been hard to convince mysister to go back to God and to church. They met her when she was very vulnerable when she had lost a friend in an accident and she believed that it was a gift from God. She was comforted and i was too but then it lasted for a short time when they started asking her to spend the whole day working for verecom and when she wanted to go for holidays with us she was forbiden-she had signed a contract indicating that she would be with this church for life. thriving on someone when they are vulnerable is wrong and they took advantage of her and ruined her spirituality and the Love she had for God. she feels that God betrayed her.

Its sad and i now feel we cant do anything about it because they have covered their tracks so well and people who know them in and out are too scared and weak spiriualy and mistrustful of others to come forward and speak out. The battle belongs to the Lord and we should pray earnestly for the truth to be revealed and for the ones who have been hurt to be healed by Jesus. Take care,i will pray for you too.

its really nice that we are able to talk about all this here because its important to those who are new beleivers of this false gospel(movement)this people claim that christ is back with the eternal gospel just as jesus christ came with the new testament and that christ is just a title that can be replaced with david. they claim that he has the commision to accomplish what christ jesus dint accomplish.this issue had killed me inside for so long.my christian world was torn up because i dint understand how such blasphemy was spreading this fast.infact they insisted on particular bible verses and discouraged members from doing bible studies individually.i remember one memeber read a verse in the holy book that seemed to differ from there teachings and after asking one of the missionary,she gave the member a totaly contradictng message.

i am specifically writing to reasure those who feel threatened by acm.those people are not harmful atleast not physically what i said before is true they can harm u spiritually there is a time i thought i could stop them by posting on this site but i really cant the effects i feel are especially on my soul spirit because i no longer beleive in myself and my God thats worse than anything else.i am especially perplexed by their reaction to this site(ACM leaders) the words they have used on this site are especially ungodly they have used name calling i mean they want people to see who they really are.they will destroy themselves.i mean watch and learn they insult their own members just for saying the truth they betray even what they beleive in the-- "community of love and all ".

i joined the 1 to 1 bible studi. i like the teaching and found it fresh to me. however, at a last class of the beginner lesson (11 lessons altogether), the missionary told me that their pastor (a korean) is actuali Jesus. thats when i realised they r cult.

I want to write down everything I know so that I will not be mistaken in relaying information.
Approximately one year and 2.5 months ago I was evangelized by a woman named Kookhee Yoo at Rice University next to Seewall Hall across from the Allen Center. I was sitting down reading from my bible, when she approached me and asked me to do bible study. I did and it was nice, I really enjoyed it. There were some things I found strange, one was that she was reading from a manuscript, these were not just notes the words she read were written down word for word. At the time I did not really think much of it, maybe it was a language barrier thing and it was more comfortable for her to read things she wrote before. I soon was told they were not her words but the words of another who delivered the message to her, I still didn’t think about it. One day we just talked, I told her everything at the time I thought it was because I felt comfortable with her that is why I told her everything, but later I realized that she was manipulating me to tell her everything. I started doing bible study at their ‘mission center’ an unfurnished two bedroom apartment in a really bad part of town in between Rice and UH on Chenevert and Southmore. I went there a lot, almost everyday I felt that these bible studies were helping me out a lot; I was having problems with my family, my life and didn’t feel any personal connections to people. I had been praying for God to send me someone to help me study the bible, and to help me in general, I was tired of living and taking care of myself. So when I was asked to go to a Christmas retreat I went, but I had reservations I was uneasy about it. When I got there my fears were double and triple, the people seemed strange and I did not understand half the things that were going on because of the language being used. I also did not understand the social hierchy, I hated to be called a “lamb” I also did not appreciate being told to ask my leader everything it was degrading as if I was not an adult, and mind you I was 28 at the time. I felt I had lived a hard life, and had been taking care of myself for so long, but I wanted to remain humble, I wanted to learn obedience as so many people were also saying they needed to learn. I thought who am I being obedient to, God or them? I had many questions I did not understand many things, I talked to people and asked them why they were not with their family, and who is this pastor guy and is it for him that they do this. I talked to one girl from the Czech Republic her name is Petra and I asked her while we were waiting for the subway if she felt we were doing all of this because the pastor told us to or what? She said that it was the will of God, so I kept going. By this time I had already gotten the “lesson” abut Pastor David, that he is second Jesus, Kookhee told me this during a bible study in the “mission center”. I asked her questions about it, I did not believe it; it was so strange to me. I asked her if he was married, she said that I was looking at him humanistically, and that I was using my standard to judge him. I told her I was uncomfortable with him being from Korea, she told me that I was looking at it all wrong. She told me she wanted to tell me so many things about his birth and life, that his mother knew that he was special before he was born that an angel came to her too, like one had to Mary. I just tried to ignore half of the things she was saying. I did not have any friends really at the time, I also did not feel that I had much of a purpose, so I tried to ignore the bad and strange things and keep going. I was receiving a lot of praise from the people in the “community” and I liked it, I am the kind of person that needs to hear that I am doing well, that someone likes me. So I went on, I started to work in the ministry on campus in the spring. I did many things, I organized, evangelized, lead bible study, “taught” people the lessons, read from the manuscripts. I had a hard time doing it, I left out so many things I just could not say to people, things like that “just like the Samaritan women God is talking to you know”, because it felt like I was saying that God is talking to them now because it is David’s words that I am reading. I kept going, down the rabbit whole, I needed to believe I told myself I believed I convinced myself. Easter retreat I went, I tried to fit in with people there but I had such a hard time, I thought these people are crazy, or am I. I could not tell, there were so many of them that just went along with this, and just one of me that thought it was all so strange. I remembered the words of Kookhee when I asked her if she was the only one who believed this about her pastor and she said that everyone did. So I struggled through the retreat, and at the end I thought it was good, I thought that I am such a sinner not to have appreciated it. I came home to Houston determined not to let my “sin” get the best of me, that I was going to be renewed in conviction with Apostolos Campus Minitry. That did not last, the more I got involved with them the weirder things I was witness to. I struggled all Spring long, and finally at the end of the term I thought I had done so poorly for doubting them that I really needed to go to the leadership training seminar in NYC, that there I would renew my conviction and I would seek the absolute truth, I went there thinking that if this was wrong that I would definitely know at the end of this. I arrogantly continued to ignore my inner voice, and I was so tempted by seeming to be important, and seeming to have a purpose that I came back stronger then ever in conviction. It was not until after the missionaries left that I started to hear myself again, I started to pray in my own voice again, I started to think about what they were teaching me. I prayed about it a lot, and after several weeks I decided to leave, just before leaving I found a website where people were engaged in a dialogue about the group and that is when I found that my concerns were not alone. I did engage in the dialogue, I felt compelled to share my concerns and situation. I had no one to talk to about them, no one who felt like I did that I was wronged by them, that they hurt me. No one I knew had been in this situation before, neither Stacy nor Christian really understood the level of deep commitment I felt with in this group, nor did they share it. I felt I could really be understood in this kind of forum, I felt that outside of seeing a therapist, this was the only way for me to let out some of my frustrations, some of my concerns that made me leave, and some of my outrage at having ever been in this kind of situation. I also want to comprise a list of all the weird things about them

1. They seem to believe that David is some how holy and divine
2. They have semi arranged marriages
3. They work in secret
4. They have an intricate hierarchical system
5. David gets to approve the marriages
5. David gets to approve the ‘job’ placement
6. They want everyone to believe strictly as they do

Major Mak Declared Victory Over Davidian

Major Makoto Yamaya declared victory over Davidian in August 2007, according to Major Mak's Diary; an anti-cult blogging against Rev. David Jang and his world wide incorporations.

It has been evidenced that in the Davidian circle, the Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung, a former Unification Church activist, was and is adored as Second Coming Christ.

The Davidian once took Major to Tokyo Local District Court for seeking 10 million yen of compensation. In June, their legal action was failed and preparatory session for Settlement Talk was started between agents of both sides.

In August, Major finished the session because of the Davidian's cyber campaigning to destroy honor of Major, especially through "2 Channel" - the world biggest online bulletin boards.

Major said that the Davidian’s counter action is full of malice and his honor is completely annihilated forever.

However, Major declared victory over the Davidian, because all of their alterations to accomplish hostile legal action to Major is now ended.

23 June 2007, Major Makoto Yamaya of The Salvation Army proposed revised guide-line for Settlement Talk with Christiantoday.

Because of the close of the file of "Christiantoday vs Major Mak", the Major is now anticipating coming another suit from overseas Davidian Cult wing. The proposal could work as a preparatory legal action.

The proposal is consisted with following 8 clauses:

1. Rev. David Jang should admit his past carrier as CARP Leader, ICSA Founder and Founding Merit to Sun Moon University.

5. Rev. David Jang should resign from the posts of CCK and WEA.

6. Davidian Group should issue a document to confirm non-existent of debts and credits between Davidian Group and Major Makoto Yamaya.

7. When above six clauses are all implemented, Major Makoto Yamaya will announce the "End of Question" on his blog without delay.

Tokyo District Court Closed the File - Christiantoday vs Major Mak

Tokyo Local District Court closed the file, Christiantoday vs Major Mak.

9 April 2007, a Salvation Army Officer, Major Makoto Yamaya, 41, was brought to Tokyo Local District Court for a case of 10 Million Yen Compensation for his "Anti Cult Blogging".

However, the Major was absent from two hearing sessions at the Court, instead, he presented Objection Pleading to the Judge. The close of the file was declared to the Major on 20 June 2007.

Major Mak's Diary , the Anti Cult Blog in which the Christiantoday has been questioned as "Davidian Cult", announced that after the close of the file, the Christiantoday sent Mediator, Pastor Chikara Yasuhara, CEO of Verecom IT Company, to Major Haruhisa Ota, Yamaya's Mediator, and both started Settlement Talks. News of the Talk is reported continuouslly on the blog.

WEA, World Evangelical Alliance, appointed Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung as a member of North American Council of the organization, according to the Press Release issued on 26 April 2007.

Rev. David Jang, who has been a core member of Unification Church (Moonies) until 1997, are now known as Founder of various mission groups and corporations like Campus Evangelical Fellowship (CEF), Apostolos Campus Ministry (ACM), Young Disciples of Jesus (YD), Christianpost, Christiantoday, Crossmap, Goodnewsline, Gospel Herald, Jubilee Mission, Breathcast, Verecom, Verelink, IBtimes, AirTel, Deographics, Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches (EAPC), and Olivet University (OU) since 2000.

A question is presented regarding Rev. David Jang that his followers secretly adore the pastor as Second Coming Christ through his one-to-one basis Bible Study, which is evidenced and problematized in Japan. Toward the voice, Christiantoday, a media company that was founded by Rev. David Jang, objected since end of last year.

A Salvation Army Officer, Major Makoto Yamaya, 41, will be brought to Tokyo Local District Court for a case of 10 Million Yen Compensation for Damage of Rumor.

Christiantoday, an international Christian online news media, stated last month that the media's advertising income has been largely lost by Major Yamaya's negative campaign through his Blog, said the company's Court Deputy, Mr. Rintaro Ishigami.

The Salvation Army pastor's voice against Christiantoday is consisted with several questions: (a) The group secretly adores Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung as Second Coming Christ, (b) The group uses young students as unpaid workers by mind controlling method, (c) The group covers up their true colors and infiltrates into WEA - World Evangelical Alliance.

Major Yamaya answers that all his presentations are based on evidences and testimonies of ex-members.

Christiantoday, which was founded by Korean pastor Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung in beginning of this Century, is now covers the globe with its online service with its affiliate groups, Christianpost, Crossmap, Apostolos Campus Ministry, Young Disciples of Jesus, Jubilee Mission, Breathcast, Verecom, Deographics, IBtimes, Olivet University and EAPC (Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches).

Last June, WEA launched its IT Center in campus of Olivet University, sponsored by Christianpost, an another facet of Christiantoday, with virtually no cost.

Rev. David Jang received two suspicions as heterodoxy: So Called Christ in 1997 and Unification Church Leader in 2004. Pastor David denied first one but for the latter, he wrote Letter of Repentance to CCK - Christian Council of Korea.

The Tokyo Local District Court will hold hearing session on 16 May 2007, however, Major Yamaya will be absent from the meeting and will present Objection Pleading to the Judge.

Big question about New Christian Heresy is now raised up in Japan, China, Korea, USA, Africa and elswhere on the globe.

This Korean originated cult is recruiting young people through their Campus Evangelism which names ACM (Apostolos Campus Ministry) and YD (Young Disciples of Jesus).

Their teaching method is one-to-one basis Bible Study, written by the Rev. David Jang Jae-Hyung, which is regarded as "Eternal Gospel", even superior to the New Testament.

The Bible Study, consisted with 100 lessons, is a gradual system as a whole to convince its students that David Jang is Second Coming Christ.

When the student reaches to point where he/she secretly confesses David as Christ, then that day becomes his/her Spiritual Birthday.

Those Confidants are soon to be transferred to the group's various organizations as unpaid workers.
